Description

  • Own the architecture of the AI security platform, including the deterministic/AI boundary, multi-tenant isolation model, and LLM security posture.
  • Establish baseline architectural decisions early and serve as the escalation point for ambiguous technical calls.
  • Translate business, compliance, and client requirements into architectural constraints and system design decisions.
  • Evaluate architectural trade-offs and technology choices, including output validation, isolation strategy, and AI pipeline structure.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate delivery risks such as prompt injection exposure, cross-tenant isolation defects, and data availability issues.
  • Define the long-term technical vision and roadmap for the product, including the source-of-truth structure and multi-stage pipeline design.
  • Review critical code paths and produce architectural decision records that document rationale and design choices.
  • Guide and mentor AI engineers and backend engineers on reliability, security, and multi-tenant design.
  • Defend the solution against scope creep and technical debt while owning design through delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Architect.
  • Hands-on experience with Python and async patterns, including FastAPI and async/await.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and multi-tenant database design, including RLS, row-level security, and schema isolation.
  • Experience with AWS cloud architecture, including Fargate, RDS, IAM, Secrets Manager, and Bedrock.
  • Experience with LLM system design, including prompt engineering, consistency guarantees, output validation, and prompt injection defense.
  • Experience with security architecture, including least-privilege access, encryption in transit, audit logging, and cross-tenant isolation.
  • Strong understanding of architectural methodologies and documentation, including layered, event-driven, and pipeline patterns, UML/C4 models, and ADRs.
  • Experience designing SaaS or highly scalable distributed applications in the cloud.
  • Experience leading Agile teams and communicating technical trade-offs to product and engineering stakeholders.
  • High proficiency in English for communication with global teams, clients, and executive stakeholders.
  • Comfort making architectural decisions in ambiguous situations and defending those decisions to stakeholders.
  • AWS Solutions Architect certification or equivalent cloud-platform credential preferred.
  • Experience with data pipelines and ETL, including multi-stage deterministic flows and orchestration patterns preferred.
  • TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture certification preferred.
  • Experience designing multi-platform SaaS applications, such as web plus mobile, preferred.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, SOC 2, or HIPAA preferred.
  • Financial acumen, including ROI calculation, effort estimation, and cost-benefit analysis of architectural trade-offs preferred.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or government preferred.
  • A track record of mentoring engineers through code review, knowledge-sharing, and collaborative problem-solving preferred.
