Description

  • Own the architecture design for the deterministic/AI boundary, multi-tenant isolation model, and LLM security posture.
  • Lead technical decisions from design through delivery while keeping the solution aligned to client requirements and avoiding scope creep.
  • Work with client leadership and stakeholders to translate business and compliance needs into architectural constraints and system requirements.
  • Evaluate architectural trade-offs and define technology insertion decisions for the platform and pipeline design.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate delivery and security risks such as prompt injection, cross-tenant isolation defects, and data availability issues.
  • Define the technical vision, product roadmap, and delivery strategy for the multi-stage AI pipeline and supporting tools.
  • Review critical code paths and produce architectural decision records and other design artifacts.
  • Mentor AI engineers and backend engineers on reliability, security patterns, and multi-tenant design.
  • Serve as the escalation point for ambiguous architectural decisions and defend those decisions to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Architect.
  • Hands-on experience with Python and async patterns, including FastAPI and async/await.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and multi-tenant database design, including RLS, row-level security, and schema isolation.
  • Experience with AWS cloud architecture, including Fargate, RDS, IAM, Secrets Manager, and Bedrock.
  • Experience designing LLM systems, including prompt engineering, consistency guarantees, output validation, and prompt injection defense.
  • Experience with security architecture, including least-privilege access, encryption in transit, audit logging, and cross-tenant isolation.
  • Strong understanding of architectural patterns, UML/C4 models, and decision-record documentation.
  • Experience designing SaaS or highly scalable distributed applications on the cloud.
  • Experience leading Agile teams and communicating technical trade-offs to product and engineering stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with high-level design artifacts such as C4 models, architecture decision records (ADRs), and risk matrices.
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools and practices, including Terraform, Docker, automated testing, migration guards, and security scanning.
  • High proficiency in English for communicating with global teams, clients, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to make architectural decisions in ambiguous situations and defend them to stakeholders.
  • AWS Solutions Architect certification or an equivalent cloud-platform credential is preferred.
  • Experience with data pipelines and ETL, including multi-stage deterministic flows and orchestration patterns, is preferred.
  • TOGAF or a similar enterprise architecture certification is preferred.
  • Experience designing multi-platform SaaS products across web and mobile is preferred.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, SOC 2, and HIPAA is preferred.
  • Financial acumen, including ROI calculation, effort estimation, and cost-benefit analysis of trade-offs, is preferred.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, or government is preferred.
  • A track record of mentoring engineers through code review, knowledge-sharing, and collaborative problem-solving is preferred.
