Description

  • Review and maintain code across multiple GitHub repositories to support long-term maintainability.
  • Analyze each repository and create a plan to improve documentation, test coverage, and maintenance practices.
  • Increase AWS infrastructure test coverage from roughly 10% to 90% across the repositories.
  • Lead the design and enhancement of automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Architect and manage cloud environments with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.
  • Use Terraform and CDK scripting to support infrastructure configuration management.
  • Tackle complex system performance issues and improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to junior team members and other engineers.
  • Perform code reviews, pull requests, and source control practices aligned with Git Flow or Trunk-Based Development.
  • Support non-business-hours issues on an on-call basis when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps with proficient coding skills in Python.
  • At least 5 years of experience delivering systems to production with an emphasis on Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Experience writing and publishing reusable, tested modules or libraries for other teams.
  • At least 4 years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps Services or GitHub Actions, including coaching other engineers.
  • Experience integrating security at design time and evaluating the effectiveness of security measures.
  • Experience performing code reviews and working with source control standards such as Git Flow or Trunk-Based Development.
  • Experience designing and delivering two or more infrastructure systems with automation and central configuration management.
  • Experience with multiple database technologies, authentication, connectivity, and complex SQL queries.
  • Deep expertise in automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef; cloud platforms such as AWS; and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Advanced knowledge of monitoring, logging tools such as Prometheus and ELK, Git, networking, security, and database management.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to mentor others, influence cross-functional teams, and work collaboratively.
  • Exceptional English communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills with the ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development, unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing.
  • Ability to be on-call for issues outside normal business hours.
  • Geographic flexibility to align with global market hours, mainly 9 AM to 5 PM Eastern time.
  • Advanced certifications in DevOps, AWS, or Kubernetes are preferred.
  • Experience prioritizing work based on business impact is preferred.
  • Experience providing accurate status tracking and reporting is preferred.
  • Ability to estimate testing and deployment efforts accurately is preferred.
