Description

  • Lead QA development efforts across the React-based storefront and internal middleware.
  • Design, build, maintain, and scale automated testing frameworks and strategies.
  • Review, guide, and mentor other QA developers while raising the team’s technical standards.
  • Integrate automated tests into cloud-based CI/CD pipelines to support fast, reliable feedback.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and reduce flaky tests, build instability, and production defects.
  • Track and report quality metrics such as automation coverage, test runtime, pipeline stability, and defect leakage.
  • Work across frontend storefronts and backend middleware, including Shopify Hydrogen and related systems.
  • Contribute to API contract testing, performance profiling, load testing, and browser-based diagnostics.
  • Collaborate with developers and the broader team to improve quality, reliability, and release readiness.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of QA development experience, with examples of building, maintaining, improving, or scaling automated testing strategies.
  • 2+ years of leadership, mentorship, or coaching experience.
  • Strong command of JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools.
  • Experience architecting, optimizing, and scaling automated testing frameworks across frontend and backend systems.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into cloud-based CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of quality metrics, including automation coverage, pipeline stability, runtime, flaky test reduction, and production defect leakage.
  • Comfort with API contract testing, performance profiling, load testing, and browser developer tools.
  • Preferred experience with Python, PHP, Figma, Storybook, or Jest.
  • Humble, hungry to learn, and people-smart as a teammate.
