Description

  • Build and maintain backend services that power partner and client APIs, WhatsApp channel lifecycle, billing, integrations, and related platform functionality.
  • Own product domains end to end and take responsibility for what is shipped into production.
  • Shape backend architecture and contribute to technical decisions that affect platform reliability and maintainability.
  • Work in Python across services that must be correct, observable, and maintainable.
  • Collaborate closely with a small, experienced engineering team and tech-first leadership.
  • Track work from development through production and understand the downstream impact of changes.
  • Contribute ideas and expertise to improve both technical and non-technical parts of the organization.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of Python, including async internals, memory, typing, and packaging.
  • Experience with backend systems, including REST and async APIs, PostgreSQL, message queues, workers, and service-to-service integration.
  • Ability to take ownership of features and understand the business context behind the work.
  • Strong structured thinking and ability to break ambiguous problems into scoped, risk-aware iterations.
  • Clear, calibrated communication with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.
  • Ability to surface blockers early and ask sharp questions.
  • Self-awareness about the difference between skill and experience, with a curious and collaborative mindset.
  • Experience with the WhatsApp Business Platform is a plus.
  • Background in B2B SaaS or messaging/communication platforms is a plus.
  • Familiarity with GCP, Cloud SQL, or similar managed infrastructure is a plus.
  • This is a contract-based role, and applicants should be comfortable with a fully remote, globally distributed setup.
