Description

  • Implement and configure animation assets and systems in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Author, maintain, and optimize complex Animation Blueprints and procedural runtime systems.
  • Develop and refine cloth, IK, secondary dynamics, Motion Matching, and advanced locomotion systems.
  • Optimize animation assets, runtime systems, and editor frameworks for performance and memory efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical animation issues across Maya and Unreal Engine.
  • Partner with animation and engineering leads to improve authoring pipelines.
  • Document tools and processes and mentor team members on technical-animation best practices.
  • Collaborate across design, art, engineering, animation, and audio teams to solve development challenges.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional technical animation experience in video game development.
  • At least one shipped AAA title.
  • Deep practical knowledge of UE5 animation tools, including Animation Blueprints, Control Rigs, Montages, Notifies, and the Rewind Debugger.
  • Understanding of procedural runtime animation technologies, including Motion Matching, Motion Warping, Full-Body IK, retargeting, ragdoll, and cloth.
  • Solid knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology, skeletal mechanics, deformation rigs, and realistic character performance.
  • Understanding of traditional animation principles and their application within real-time gameplay constraints.
  • Experience working effectively on cross-disciplinary teams and communicating complex ideas to varied audiences.
  • Ability to work autonomously, incorporate feedback, maintain quality under changing priorities, and mentor others.
  • Professional proficiency in French and English for candidates located in Quebec.
