Description

  • Build and operate data services that power applications and APIs.
  • Collaborate with team members and across Engineering to prototype and develop new functionality.
  • Provide technical leadership on the architecture and design of team systems.
  • Coach other engineers and help improve team engineering practices.
  • Partner closely with product managers and other stakeholders on delivery and planning.
  • Process, store, and deliver health records at very large scale while maintaining data quality and freshness.
  • Work within microservices and streaming data pipelines to support mission-critical platform services.
  • Contribute to safe production deployments and operational reliability.
  • Help evolve the platform in response to changing scale, customer needs, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience building operationally stable, scalable, and cost-efficient data services.
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks.
  • Experience with at least one deployment technology such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI, at least one cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Ability to learn quickly and thrive in open-ended technical challenges.
  • Comfort owning work end-to-end and deploying safely to production.
  • Interest in collaboration and solving unique problems in a growing startup environment.
  • Preferred experience with petabyte-scale data.
  • Preferred experience with Apache Iceberg, Apache Spark, and other large-scale data technologies.
  • Preferred experience with AuthN/AuthZ and fine-grained access control.
  • Preferred familiarity with multiple languages, including Go or Python.
  • Preferred experience working with healthcare data and APIs.
  • Preferred familiarity with FHIR and/or TEFCA standards.
  • Willingness to travel about once per quarter for in-person collaboration.
