Description

  • Architect and deploy highly scalable, cloud-native systems using Django.
  • Integrate systems with external HR-tech platforms to enable bi-directional data transfer.
  • Collaborate across teams and functional units to align on strategic initiatives.
  • Document technical proposals and designs and refine solutions with peers.
  • Break down complex business problems into manageable engineering tasks.
  • Identify bottlenecks, communicate tradeoffs, and provide technical recommendations to the product team.
  • Participate in software design discussions and peer code reviews.
  • Support production software releases and participate in the on-call rotation.
  • Drive product- and engineering-led initiatives from design through implementation.
  • Contribute technical leadership and promote best practices across the team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience building highly available web application systems using Python/Django.
  • Experience designing and building APIs that connect disparate systems.
  • Strong proficiency in software design principles and technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex technical topics.
  • Ability to ramp up quickly on new systems and adapt to change.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, ever-changing startup environment.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership with a focus on best practices and positive team culture.
  • Passion for continuous learning, problem-solving, and staying current with emerging technologies.
  • Experience writing and maintaining production code in Python using the Django web framework.
  • Experience with payroll, HR tech, healthcare, or insurance systems (preferred).
  • Experience mentoring and collaborating with team members to drive technical excellence.
  • Experience working in a startup and/or B2B SaaS environment.
