Description

  • Build and maintain internal tooling for the data team, including CLIs, automation scripts, observability dashboards, and developer productivity tools.
  • Contribute to the development and deployment of the team's conversational analytics product, including infrastructure, CI/CD, and production readiness.
  • Define and manage Snowflake infrastructure as code with Terraform, including provisioning, access controls, resource monitors, and performance tuning.
  • Extend, maintain, and improve the data catalog in OpenMetadata so data assets are documented, discoverable, and trusted.
  • Own the data quality infrastructure by building testing, monitoring, and alerting for freshness, completeness, and correctness.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD workflows for dbt model deployment, schema validation, data quality checks, and automated testing.
  • Create reproducible local and development environments that allow the team to work efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the Tech Lead to design and implement data platform architecture aligned with technical strategy, security, and scalability needs.
  • Apply a security-first mindset by codifying access patterns, credentials, and audit logging in version-controlled infrastructure.
  • Perform code reviews, verify pull requests meet acceptance criteria, and uphold engineering standards across the platform codebase.

Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical or vocational program, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years focused on data platforms or data infrastructure.
  • Experience with a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform to manage cloud infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language; JavaScript/TypeScript is preferred and Python is also valuable.
  • Experience with data ingestion platforms such as Fivetran or Airbyte.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals, including version control discipline, code review practices, and reproducible builds.
  • Experience implementing secure data practices to meet compliance standards.
  • Preferred experience with Snowflake administration, including RBAC, resource monitors, and performance tuning.
  • Preferred experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Preferred experience with data catalog tools such as OpenMetadata, DataHub, Atlan, or similar.
  • Preferred experience with data observability tooling.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $104,000 to $145,000 per year.
