Description

  • Lead a team of 5–10 engineers and drive ceremonies and day-to-day team operations.
  • Remove blockers and enable engineers to stay focused on valuable, achievable delivery.
  • Manage team performance, provide continuous feedback, mentoring, and own professional well-being and career development.
  • Review engineering work and pull requests, provide clear technical direction, and contribute to the codebase when needed.
  • Support and uphold the engineering release process by monitoring deployments and maintaining Production branch standards.
  • Lead and participate in technical design discussions, align on architecture and implementation approaches, and dive deep into details when required.
  • Define and own the team’s technical roadmap, assess technical debt, and ensure components scale and remain in a healthy state.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Product Owner and UI/UX Designer to plan sprints, structure work, and translate business objectives into engineering priorities.
  • Balance sprint commitments with customer-facing responsibilities by triaging support tickets, setting timelines, and prioritizing effectively.
  • Drive adoption and evolution of AI-driven development practices across the team while ensuring human oversight of design and quality.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading an engineering team (typically 5+ engineers) in a delivery-focused environment (3+ years).
  • 5+ years as a software engineer with a strong hands-on technical background capable of reviewing code, guiding design, and contributing to the codebase when needed.
  • Experience owning delivery and execution, including sprint planning, backlog management, and release readiness.
  • AI-driven mindset and experience applying AI-driven development practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and manage team members through regular feedback and performance management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business context into clear technical direction and to communicate effectively up, down, and across the organization.
  • Experience working in SaaS, cloud-native, or distributed systems environments with solid knowledge of system reliability, performance tuning, and production incident management.
  • Hands-on experience with Golang and Node.js, strong experience with React for large front-end applications, and experience building orchestrated data pipelines (e.g., Dagster, Airflow).
  • Experience designing and operating systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure), familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or similar), and understanding of distributed systems concepts (consistency, availability, observability, fault tolerance).
  • Role is remote and based in the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Estonia, or Israel.
