Description

  • Lead and manage a team of 5–10 engineers, driving day-to-day ceremonies and operations.
  • Unblock engineers quickly and provide clear priorities so the team can deliver valuable, focused outcomes.
  • Own team delivery and execution, including sprint planning, backlog management, and release readiness.
  • Review engineering work and pull requests, provide clear technical direction and actionable feedback, and contribute to the codebase when needed.
  • Lead and participate in technical design discussions, ensure architectural alignment, and assess technical debt and system health.
  • Drive and maintain the house-level technical roadmap in collaboration with the Technical Product Owner and UI/UX Designer, balancing near-term priorities and longer-term direction.
  • Manage customer-facing support work alongside sprint commitments, set expectations for timelines, and prioritize effectively to maintain sprint health.
  • Communicate and collaborate upwards (leadership), downwards (team coaching and career development), and sideways (cross-house alignment) to ensure clarity and stability.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading an engineering team (typically 5+ engineers) in a delivery-focused environment (3+ years).
  • Past experience as a software engineer for at least 5+ years with a strong hands-on technical background and ability to review code and dive deep when needed.
  • Experience owning delivery and execution, including sprint planning, backlog management, and release readiness.
  • AI-driven mindset and experience applying AI-driven development practices while ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and grow engineers through regular feedback and performance management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business context into clear technical direction.
  • Experience working in SaaS, cloud-native, or distributed systems environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Golang and Node.js for backend services and APIs, and with React for large-scale front-end applications.
  • Experience building orchestrated data pipelines (e.g., Dagster, Airflow) and familiarity with API analysis for data extraction and transformation.
  • Solid experience designing and operating systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure), familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar), and understanding of distributed systems concepts (consistency, availability, observability, fault tolerance); plus system reliability, performance tuning, and production incident management.
