Description

  • Lead a team of 5–10 engineers and drive team ceremonies and day-to-day operations.
  • Unblock engineers quickly and ensure team members are clear on deliverables and the user value of their work.
  • Own execution and delivery for the House, including sprint planning, backlog management, and release readiness.
  • Manage team performance, provide continuous feedback, mentoring, and career development support.
  • Review engineering work and pull requests, providing clear, actionable, and constructive technical feedback.
  • Lead and facilitate technical design and architecture discussions, while being able to dive deep into implementation details when needed.
  • Drive and maintain the team's technical roadmap, assess and address technical debt, and ensure components scale and remain healthy.
  • Actively support production releases by monitoring deployments, upholding Production branch standards, and contributing to incident readiness and response.
  • Collaborate closely with the Technical Product Owner and UI/UX Designer to define, plan, and prioritize sprints that align engineering work with broader business objectives.
  • Balance sprint commitments with customer-facing responsibilities by triaging support tickets, setting timelines, and prioritizing effectively.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience leading an engineering team (typically 5+ engineers) in a delivery-focused environment.
  • 5+ years experience as a software engineer with a strong hands-on technical background and ability to review code, guide design decisions, and contribute to the codebase.
  • Proven experience owning delivery and execution, including sprint planning, backlog management, and release readiness.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Golang and Node.js (backend services/APIs) and with React for large-scale front-end applications.
  • Experience building orchestrated data pipelines using technologies such as Dagster or Airflow (or equivalents).
  • Experience designing and operating systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) with familiarity with cloud fundamentals (microservices, managed pipeline orchestration, compute).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and strong understanding of API analysis for data extraction and transformation.
  • Understanding of distributed systems concepts (consistency, availability, observability, fault tolerance) and strong knowledge of system reliability, performance tuning, and production incident management.
  • AI-driven mindset with experience or willingness to lead AI-driven development workflows and evolve team practices around AI-driven implementation.
  • Experience working in SaaS, cloud-native, or distributed systems environments; role is remote-based in the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Estonia, or Israel.
