Description

  • Lead and manage a team of 5–10 engineers, driving ceremonies and day-to-day operations.
  • Unblock engineers quickly and ensure team members are clear about deliverables and the value they provide to users.
  • Own the professional well-being, career development, performance management, and mentoring of team members.
  • Drive and support the engineering release process by monitoring deployments and upholding Production branch standards to ensure high-quality production releases.
  • Review pull requests and provide clear, actionable, and constructive feedback to elevate the team’s technical quality.
  • Lead and participate in technical design discussions to align on architecture and implementation while being able to dive deep into hands-on details when needed.
  • Drive and own the team’s technical roadmap, assess technical debt, and ensure system components scale and remain healthy.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Product Owner and UI/UX Designer to define, plan, and structure sprints, maintain a house-level roadmap, and align engineering efforts with business objectives.
  • Balance sprint commitments with customer-facing responsibilities by prioritizing support tickets, setting expectations, and ensuring timely resolution while maintaining sprint execution.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading an engineering team (typically 5+ engineers) in a delivery-focused environment (3+ years).
  • At least 5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Strong hands-on technical background with the ability to review code, guide design decisions, and dive deep when needed.
  • Experience owning delivery and execution, including sprint planning, backlog management, and release readiness.
  • AI-driven mindset and experience evolving teams around AI-driven development.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and grow engineers through regular feedback and performance management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business context into clear technical direction.
  • Experience working in SaaS, cloud-native, or distributed systems environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Node.js and React, plus practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking fundamentals (VPCs, load balancers, peering, VPNs), Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, distributed systems concepts (consistency, availability, observability), and production incident management.
