Description

  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Engineer to understand and take ownership of core platform subsystems.
  • Build and maintain major product areas including billing, FHIR/EHR integrations, frontend, claims workflows, and clinical workflow architecture.
  • Design maintainable systems and make architectural decisions for new and existing products.
  • Develop and ship features across the full stack, from frontend interfaces to backend services and data layers.
  • Improve and maintain the platform’s production SaaS applications with a focus on quality, performance, and scalability.
  • Work with healthcare domain concepts such as billing codes, clinical workflows, and HIPAA-related requirements.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and increase engineering throughput.
  • Communicate clearly with the team through written documentation, PR descriptions, and technical decision records.
  • Take initiative to identify work, prioritize what needs to be built, and execute with minimal supervision.
  • Contribute to a small, startup-style engineering environment with broad ownership and rapid responsibility growth.

Requirements

  • 4–8 years of full-stack software engineering experience delivering production SaaS applications.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript, including generics, utility types, strict mode, and discriminated unions.
  • Experience building production applications with React and Next.js, including SSR, API routes, dynamic routing, and performance optimization.
  • Backend development experience with Node.js, including REST APIs, authentication, middleware, error handling, and background jobs.
  • Experience with Prisma ORM and PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, query optimization, and relational modeling.
  • Strong Git skills, including branching strategies, clean commit history, PR workflows, and rebasing.
  • Daily use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot, with the ability to explain how they shape your workflow.
  • Self-directed working style with comfort in ambiguous environments where tasks are not assigned.
  • Strong English communication skills for asynchronous collaboration and technical writing.
  • Preferred: experience with healthcare SaaS, including billing, EHR, clinical workflows, or HIPAA compliance.
  • Preferred: familiarity with FHIR/HL7 standards.
  • Preferred: experience with Server-Sent Events or WebSocket-based real-time architecture.
  • Preferred: understanding of multi-tenant SaaS security, including RBAC, row-level security, and tenant isolation.
  • Preferred: experience with Azure services such as App Service, Azure SQL, and Blob Storage.
  • Preferred: ability to learn complex domain knowledge quickly from subject matter experts.
  • Nice to have: knowledge of behavioral health or medical billing.
  • Nice to have: experience with AI/ML pipeline integration.
  • Nice to have: startup experience, including comfort with ambiguity and frequent pivots.
  • Nice to have: experience working on a very small engineering team.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with medical billing codes such as CPT and ICD-10.
