Description

  • Own delivery outcomes across all products, including scope management, release scheduling, quality controls, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Directly manage the engineering team through hiring, performance reviews, coaching, feedback, conflict resolution, and retention.
  • Set engineering culture and performance standards while building a cohesive, accountable team.
  • Own system architecture across the full stack, including web applications, APIs, infrastructure, and AI integrations.
  • Make trade-off decisions on speed versus thoroughness, refactoring versus shipping, and infrastructure investments versus feature work.
  • Establish and improve CI/CD, release engineering, environment setup, quality checkpoints, and deployment automation.
  • Lead engineering security practices, including access control, secrets management, audit trails, and SDLC security protocols.
  • Define and enforce AI governance policies for approved tools, intellectual property protection, and safe AI use in development.
  • Build the engineering organization by structuring roles, maintaining hiring standards, conducting technical interviews, and making hiring decisions.
  • Assess architecture, review code, troubleshoot production issues, and develop engineering runbooks for shipping and incident response.

Requirements

  • 10-18 years of software engineering experience, including at least 4 years in engineering management.
  • Experience managing teams of 5-20+ engineers with direct ownership of delivery, personnel, recruitment, performance management, and architecture.
  • Proven experience designing and advancing SaaS systems across front-end, back-end, database, and infrastructure layers.
  • Experience creating or significantly improving CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, and environment management.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure such as Azure or AWS in production.
  • Strong technical depth to review code, debug production issues, and evaluate design choices.
  • Working knowledge of security fundamentals, including access control, secrets management, audit trails, and SDLC security.
  • Strong English communication skills with the ability to write clear decision memos, engineering plans, and risk escalations.
  • Startup or high-growth experience delivering in ambiguous, resource-constrained, and deadline-driven environments.
  • Preferred experience in healthcare SaaS, including EHR, billing, clinical workflows, or HIPAA.
  • Preferred familiarity with the TypeScript/Node/React ecosystem.
  • Preferred understanding of observability and SRE practices, including logging, metrics, tracing, and incident response.
  • Preferred experience productizing AI/ML features safely in production.
  • Preferred experience building QA and test automation into engineering culture.
  • Preferred experience leading remote-first teams across multiple time zones.
  • Preferred familiarity with EOS or similar operating frameworks.
  • Preferred knowledge of FHIR/HL7, Kubernetes, SOC 2, B2B multi-tenant SaaS, mental health domains, or FDA AI/ML compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work evening IST hours with 4-8 hours of daily overlap with US Pacific time.
  • Availability to support critical releases or incidents when needed.
