Description

  • Design, implement, and maintain full‑stack features across Ruby on Rails backends and React / React Native frontends.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Ops to define problems, shape solutions, and deliver iterative improvements and experiments.
  • Own end‑to‑end projects (Missions) from scoping and alignment through delivery, iteration, and monitoring in production.
  • Instrument product workflows and user interactions (e.g., MixPanel events) to measure outcomes and drive product decisions.
  • Improve platform reliability, security, and developer experience (e.g., audit logging, anonymisation for dev databases, CI metrics).
  • Upgrade and maintain dependencies and mobile SDKs (e.g., Expo), resolve build/runtime issues, and reduce future maintenance risk.
  • Build admin tools and granular permissions systems so non‑engineers can manage roles and access without engineering intervention.
  • Contribute to AI tooling and prototypes (agents configuration, knowledge‑base experiments, matching/triage spikes) to unblock product and developer workflows.
  • Share learning, mentor colleagues, and help shape team processes and engineering excellence.

Requirements

  • Able to work full‑time remotely within UK timezone ±6 hours (EMEA‑friendly).
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails and JavaScript frontends (React and/or React Native).
  • Experience deploying and operating applications on platforms like Heroku and using edge/services such as Cloudflare.
  • Practical experience with analytics instrumentation (e.g., MixPanel), logging, and auditability practices.
  • Strong product thinking, curiosity, adaptability, and a proactive problem‑shaping mindset (not just ticket delivery).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated async collaboration in distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with mobile app upgrades (Expo), CI/CD, developer tooling, and safe data anonymisation for development workflows.
  • Experience or interest in AI/ML tooling (e.g., Amazon Personalise, AI agents) and security/vulnerability remediation is desirable.
