Description

  • Design, build, and maintain backend and frontend systems that power the core platform.
  • Deliver API-driven solutions to the user experience with workflow automation as the default approach.
  • Own end-to-end solutions from problem definition and success metrics through implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and stakeholders to translate accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements into scalable product experiences.
  • Build and maintain integrations with tax authorities and regulatory filing systems, accounting for reliability, security, and operational constraints.
  • Build and maintain reconciliation and period-close workflows so ledgers stay balanced and books close accurately and on time.
  • Make technical decisions that balance security, performance, quality, and long-term maintainability.
  • Improve observability, system reliability, and engineering practices across the platform.
  • Explore emerging technologies, including AI-assisted engineering workflows and developer tooling.

Requirements

  • Proven professional experience with Java and the Spring Boot framework in production environments.
  • Experience with Python and React is a strong plus.
  • Proven experience building products in accounting, tax, ledger, financial reporting, or other regulated financial environments.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting or ledger systems and with designing and delivering regulatory or tax-authority filing integrations.
  • Solid understanding of double-entry accounting, VAT, and tax-reporting concepts, including e-invoicing and SII-style filing.
  • Confidence with SQL and designing database schemas that perform well under real user load.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL is a plus.
  • Experience working in startup or scale-up environments with evolving priorities and a high level of ownership.
  • Outcome-oriented mindset with attention to how technical work impacts customers and the business.
  • Interest in AI tools and how they can improve engineering workflows and products.
  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, or data science concepts in a product engineering environment is nice to have.
  • Experience building or experimenting with AI-powered features or automations is a plus.
  • Proven contributions to engineering excellence and developer experience are nice to have.
  • Experience with AWS or another major cloud provider, with interest in infrastructure, networking, CI/CD, and containers.
