Description

  • Perform quality control on assigned English-to-French Canadian projects and accounts.
  • Complete on-demand translation, transcreation, and post-editing tasks.
  • Handle translation-related administrative tasks and manage project-related queries.
  • Maintain glossaries, style guides, and work instructions to a high quality standard and keep them up to date.
  • Interact with clients on linguistic matters as needed.
  • Train and develop new and existing freelancers based on account and company needs.
  • Support communication within the team and resolve terminology and language questions.
  • Participate in developing improved working processes.
  • Help ensure the language process is followed by the project or account team.
  • Work toward goals set by the French Team Lead.

Requirements

  • University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in the translation and localization industry.
  • Fluent in French Canadian at a native level, both written and spoken.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience translating mobile apps, search engines, IT consumer products, entertainment, marketing, software UI, or websites is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of localization processes.
  • Excellent language sense and knowledge of terminology in IT consumer products, social media, and entertainment.
  • Proficiency with standard software such as Windows and Office applications, and standard CAT tools.
  • Ability to learn new localization tools and applications quickly.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and in a virtual team.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to train and teach others and share knowledge.
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and translators.
