Description

Edit and proofread Japanese content to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
Create creative marketing copy and localized storefront descriptions that engage customers.
Perform translations and additional review tasks as needed.
Monitor linguistic quality and quality planning in collaboration with the Quality Department.
Define language-specific quality expectations, potentially with the client.
Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, KPI tracking, status reporting, and arbitration processes.
Join client linguistic calls, lead discussions on quality and strategy, and resolve linguistic issues.
Document client meetings, follow up with linguists, and ensure alignment across teams.
Create and maintain linguistic assets and client-facing documentation.
Coordinate, coach, and mentor the linguistic team, including onboarding, training, and work assignment.

Requirements

Native-level fluency in Japanese and fluent English.
University degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
4+ years of experience in translation, localization, reviewing, copywriting, creative writing, or equivalent work.
Thorough understanding of the localization process.
Good working knowledge of standard software such as Windows and Office applications.
Ability to work under tight deadlines.
Ability to give clear, concise, and constructive feedback.
Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and linguists.
Ability and willingness to train and teach others and share knowledge.
Ability to work within a virtual team.
Experience with Smartling is a plus.
Background in journalism or similar is preferred.
Passion for music, film, and tech, with a knack for iOS and Mac OS devices is preferred.
