Description

  • Conduct LQA reviews in line with quality guidelines and production timelines.
  • Handle linguistic arbitrations and build consensus on language decisions.
  • Update glossaries and translation memories in Smartling.
  • Review, respond to, and implement client and QA testing feedback.
  • Provide Urdu-Pakistan linguistic and cultural consultation to clients.
  • Collaborate with language specialists, translation teams, and client stakeholders to improve language quality.
  • Maintain reference materials, training documentation, and meeting notes.
  • Monitor LQA performance, address quality issues, and escalate quality risks.
  • Contribute to root cause analyses and quality improvement plans.
  • Prioritize, track, and recommend improvements to linguistic assets based on client needs, end-user impact, time, and cost.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation Studies, Language Arts, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in translation, localization, or linguistic services.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Language Lead or Senior Linguist.
  • Native or near-native Urdu-Pakistan proficiency and excellent written and verbal English (US).
  • Pakistani national with in-depth knowledge of Pakistani cultural and regional linguistic nuances.
  • Familiarity with CAT tools and translation management systems, including Smartling.
  • Strong knowledge of linguistic quality assurance processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Flexibility to work across all content types, including sensitive content, music, video, genres, and domains.
  • Experience supporting a global music service provider, additional language proficiency, and translation or localization tool certification are preferred.
