Description

  • Translate patent-related content from English (US) into Portuguese (Brazil) while preserving meaning and readability.
  • Perform translation and copy-editing for patent documents.
  • Identify and correct linguistic errors and maintain consistent terminology and style.
  • Follow client-specific style guides, glossaries, and project guidelines.
  • Review and assess translations using XTM CAT tools.
  • Provide detailed feedback to translators and prepare quality reports.
  • Manage capacity of more than 5,000 weighted words per week and complete assignments on time.

Requirements

  • Native-level fluency in Brazilian Portuguese.
  • BS/BA in linguistics, translation, biology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in translation, linguistic quality assessment, copywriting, or copy-editing for patents or technical content.
  • Experience translating or reviewing patents or other technical documents.
  • Subject-matter experience in chemistry, computer science, or electricity patent content.
  • Strong understanding of biological terminology and ability to adapt complex scientific language for target audiences.
  • Proficiency with CAT tools, including XTM, for project management and quality assessment.
  • Immediate availability for a remote freelance project.
