Description

  • Solve complex bioinformatics problems across genomics, transcriptomics, virology, and related areas.
  • Analyze large-scale biological datasets and derive meaningful insights from the results.
  • Develop and submit reproducible, well-structured Jupyter notebooks that document the full analytical workflow.
  • Work independently under a blind protocol without prior task context or direct guidance.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to ambiguous and open-ended scientific analysis tasks.
  • Contribute completed analyses to the evaluation of advanced AI systems on real-world scientific reasoning tasks.

Requirements

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas: RNA-seq analysis, variant calling, metagenomic classification, epigenomics (ChIP-seq or methylation analysis), single-cell analysis, or population genetics.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or R for building bioinformatics pipelines.
  • Experience creating reproducible and well-documented Jupyter notebooks.
  • Familiarity with command-line bioinformatics tools such as samtools.
  • Strong independent reasoning and the ability to work without direct guidance.
  • Ability to work on an independent contractor basis for a 4-week contract starting in March.
  • Availability to complete tasks on a rolling basis and on a flexible schedule.
  • Candidates requiring H1-B or STEM OPT sponsorship are not eligible.
