Description

  • Review and disposition transaction monitoring alerts and determine whether escalation to the Financial Intelligence Unit is warranted.
  • Investigate transactional activity, KYC records, and open-source information supporting triage and monitoring decisions.
  • Document triage decisions and alert dispositions accurately for consistency, auditability, and transparency.
  • Partner with Engineering to develop and improve transaction monitoring processes and parameters.
  • Identify unusual activity associated with money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud.
  • Analyze account and transaction activity to identify and expand Fraud and AML typologies.
  • Support and enhance suspicious activity detection, transaction monitoring, reporting controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with adverse media and PEP watchlist screening.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and provide guidance on impending changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2–4 years of direct or relevant experience in AML, sanctions, or follow-the-money analysis or investigations.
  • Practical understanding of money laundering typologies and related red flags.
  • Experience triaging potentially suspicious activity and determining whether escalation is appropriate.
  • Strong knowledge of BSA/AML, FinCEN, FINRA, and SEC regulations.
  • Experience developing or reviewing transaction monitoring parameters.
  • Experience with subpoenas and USA PATRIOT Act Sections 314(a) and 314(b) requests.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects, including collaboration with Engineering teams.
  • Willingness to obtain applicable registrations or licenses; CAMS or CFE certification and Broker-Dealer/RIA experience are preferred.
