Description

  • Design, build, and maintain highly scalable core services for Waymo’s Marketplace booking flows.
  • Ensure high reliability, low latency, and fault tolerance for critical user-facing infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with iOS and Android engineers, product managers, UX designers or researchers, and data scientists to launch new ride-hailing features.
  • Architect APIs and systems that serve internal teams and external partners.
  • Support intelligent scheduling, search, suggestions, and other user-facing booking experiences.
  • Work on a small team owning high-impact, customer-facing flows in the app.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience programming in backend coding languages.
  • Experience building backend distributed systems.
  • Experience with C++ in a production environment (preferred).
  • MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience (preferred).
  • Experience developing low-latency, large-scale, user-facing distributed systems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with ride-hailing or marketplace consumer platforms (preferred).
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and interest in partnering with mobile/frontend teams (preferred).
  • Experience at another ride-hailing or marketplace company (preferred).

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $175,000 to $215,000 USD.
  • Eligibility for Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program.
