Description

  • Define and own the financial services product vision and strategy for Wave’s small business suite.
  • Lead payments platform modernization, including infrastructure migration, fraud reduction, reliability improvements, and customer trust initiatives.
  • Own uptime, reliability, observability, and platform stability commitments for payments products.
  • Partner with Risk, Fraud Operations, Compliance, and Security on onboarding, underwriting, and fraud mitigation.
  • Integrate payments and financial services workflows with Accounting, Tax, and other SMB product experiences.
  • Manage cross-functional stakeholders across Engineering, Design, Customer Success, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Security, and Marketing.
  • Develop business cases, manage financial impacts, define OKRs, and use data to drive product priorities and KPIs.
  • Identify effective AI applications for team productivity, fraud detection, risk decisioning, operations, and customer experiences.
  • Build and coach a high-performing product team and establish strong product development and collaboration practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement through coaching, retrospectives, and operational excellence initiatives.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product management experience, including at least 5 years in fintech and 2+ years leading product teams at Group level or above.
  • Deep financial services expertise, ideally covering payments acquiring, acceptance, payment facilitation, fraud and risk controls, and processor or platform partnerships.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial product onboarding, including KYC, KYB, risk, and fraud mitigation.
  • Experience with payment processor or platform partnerships and migrations at scale is preferred.
  • Track record of leading product teams and taking fintech products from ideation through launch and scale.
  • Experience operating within compliance, regulatory, and audit constraints while maintaining customer and business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated judgment applying AI to productivity, fraud/risk decisioning, and customer experiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, prioritization, decision-making, and influence skills.
  • Strong people leadership experience, including coaching Product Managers and building high-performing teams in a coach-player role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
