Life Sciences Tools & Services

Description

  • Define and drive the technical roadmap for Voyager’s Spectrum Dominance portfolio, with emphasis on space-based active and passive RF systems.
  • Set the strategic direction for applying Agentic Computational Engineering to RF hardware design, DSP algorithm development, and end-to-end RF system integration.
  • Lead deployment of Voyager’s ACE platform for RF-specific applications so AI agents can design, simulate, evaluate, and optimize RF hardware and DSP subsystems.
  • Direct the development of domain-specific AI agents for electromagnetic simulation, transceiver architecture exploration, waveform design, interference analysis, and signal chain optimization.
  • Establish automated simulation loops between RF/DSP design agents and physics solvers for antenna patterns, RCS analysis, link budgets, and spectral performance.
  • Drive AI-first workflows across the RF engineering organization, including use of LLM-based tools for documentation, design review, test planning, and compliance verification.
  • Lead complex research and development programs for next-generation space-based and terrestrial RF systems while managing technical risk and delivery.
  • Oversee the design, analysis, and testing of advanced RF systems such as satellite communications payloads, SIGINT/ELINT collectors, SAR, and passive sensing architectures.
  • Architect complete RF systems that integrate DSP algorithms, SDR hardware, FPGA/SoC platforms, and mission software across space and ground segments.
  • Build and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team spanning RF hardware, DSP, and AI/ML disciplines, and collaborate with business development, product, manufacturing, propulsion, and electronics teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Demonstrated background in the design, development, and deployment of space-based active or passive RF systems.
  • Direct experience with space-environment constraints including radiation hardening, thermal management, power budgeting, and long-duration reliability.
  • Proven background in designing and developing complete end-to-end RF systems, including RF front ends and digital subsystems.
  • Extensive experience designing and developing software-defined radio (SDR) systems, with familiarity in modern transceiver architectures and FPGA/SoC platforms.
  • Strong track record in developing complex DSP and RF machine learning (RFML) algorithms using modern compute and AI/ML techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams through the full lifecycle of advanced R&D programs from white paper to prototype to deployment.
  • Demonstrated background fielding capability in SIGINT, EW, or Radar, with preference for space-based applications.
  • Familiarity with government R&D contracting and delivering against milestones for customers such as DARPA, ONR, AFRL, NRO, or the Space Force.
  • Proven proposal development experience, including technical volumes and cost estimates for complex government solicitations.
  • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance is preferred.
  • Direct experience with space-based RF payload programs, including design, integration, test, and on-orbit operations, is preferred.
  • Experience with or strong interest in AI-driven engineering workflows, including agentic AI systems, LLM-based design tools, automated simulation frameworks, or generative design platforms, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, or custom agent runtimes is preferred.
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, or FEKO is preferred.
  • Experience productizing advanced R&D into monetizable commercial motions is preferred.
  • Demonstrated history of leading winning proposals for space-based RF programs is preferred.
  • Background in orbit-specific RF considerations such as Doppler compensation, atmospheric propagation effects, space-to-ground link budgets, anti-jam architectures, and LPI waveforms is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to customer sites, test ranges, and Voyager locations is required.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with a $225,000 to $300,000 USD pay range in California, Washington DC, and Washington.
  • Discretionary annual bonus plan.
  • Paid time off (PTO).
  • Comprehensive health benefit package.
  • Retirement savings benefits.
  • Wellness program.
  • Additional benefits as part of Voyager’s total compensation package.
