Description

  • Lead major redesign, platform, and AI pursuits from RFP strategy through finalist presentations as the CCIO’s representative.
  • Develop win themes, creative and experience concepts, and integrated solutions spanning design, content, data, and technology.
  • Partner with sales and business development leaders to define scope, phasing, staffing, estimates, and deliverable solutions.
  • Prepare go/no-go recommendations for new opportunities based on fit, winnability, investment, and trade-offs.
  • Build trusted relationships with client executives and guide engagements through complex decisions.
  • Package design capabilities into sellable offerings and maintain pursuit materials including case studies, references, concepts, and thought leadership.
  • Represent the company’s design perspective at industry events and with DXP platform partners.
  • Develop and measure AI use cases that improve UX and UI delivery, incorporating results into estimates, pricing, and quality standards.
  • Introduce AI-enabled experience concepts, including conversational interfaces, agentic interfaces, AI search, and personalization, into pursuits and client accounts.
  • Own design delivery economics, quality standards, performance measurement, staffing recommendations, and practice documentation.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience leading experience design teams, a practice, studio, or business unit with growth and operational accountability.
  • Portfolio demonstrating idea-led, concept-driven creative work.
  • Track record of leading and winning finalist presentations for $1M+ engagements as the senior client-facing leader.
  • Experience selling integrated design, content, data, and technology engagements.
  • Experience delivering enterprise-scale experience design on Sitecore, Optimizely, Adobe Experience Manager, or Drupal.
  • Experience working with organizations with complex governance, such as associations, nonprofits, healthcare systems, financial services firms, or universities.
  • Experience leading both UX and UI/visual design teams, including research-led interaction design, visual design, brand expression, and design systems.
  • Demonstrated success embedding AI tools and use cases into design delivery with measurable results.
  • Experience designing or selling AI-enabled client experiences, including trust, uncertainty, failure-state, and human-handoff considerations.
  • Daily hands-on use of AI tools; ability to explain their strengths and limitations to client executives.
  • Ability to link recommendations to business metrics such as revenue, membership, cost to serve, and risk.
  • Strong written communication and client executive references from competitively won engagements.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%; Velir does not sponsor candidates or accept OPT/CPT candidates.
