Description

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, including hiring and onboarding new team members.
  • Own the design, development (including Go), testing, and delivery of significant Veeam Kasten features related to backup and recovery of Kubernetes applications, databases, and storage systems.
  • Collaborate with product managers and other engineering teams to define and ship new product features.
  • Establish and maintain code quality, extensibility, coding standards, testing, and automation practices.
  • Ensure product security, reliability, and engineering excellence for production deployments.
  • Work with and contribute to the cloud-native open-source community.
  • Prepare technical documentation and specifications for features and systems.
  • Drive operational and production readiness for scalable, concurrent systems used in enterprise environments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing a team of engineers.
  • 5+ years developing enterprise solutions in a high-level programming language (C++, Java, or C#) with willingness to learn Go.
  • Expertise in developing, testing, and debugging production-quality, scalable, multi-threaded, concurrent systems.
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures and algorithms).
  • University degree in a technical field or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience developing in Go (preferred).
  • Experience developing for and on containers, container schedulers, and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, OpenShift, Rancher, etc.).
  • Active contribution to open-source projects in the Kubernetes/cloud-native ecosystem (preferred).
  • Participation in CNCF Technical Advisory Groups (TAGs) or Kubernetes Special Interest Groups (SIGs) (preferred).
  • Familiarity with cloud Kubernetes services and tools such as Google GKE, AWS EKS, Azure AKS, VMware TKG(s), Bash, and Git.
