Description

Lead and develop a distributed team of LATAM-based CAD Technicians, Drafters, Mechanical Design Engineers, and Electrical Engineers.
Set expectations for quality, delivery, and technical rigor across engineering work.
Assign, prioritize, and coordinate work across multiple programs.
Mentor engineers and provide performance feedback to support ongoing development.
Own mechanical design execution for modular systems, enclosures, and industrial structures.
Review and approve designs for accuracy, manufacturability, materials, tolerances, and fabrication methods.
Drive design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) practices.
Provide oversight for electrical engineering deliverables and ensure integration with mechanical layouts.
Establish and enforce engineering standards, templates, best practices, and revision control.
Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program teams to translate requirements into engineering work packages and manage risks.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
10+ years of experience in industrial, modular, or engineered-to-order environments.
5+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
Strong mechanical engineering background with design experience.
Experience managing remote or distributed teams.
Ability to review and approve mechanical and electrical designs.
Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
Experience with modular systems, enclosures, or industrial equipment (nice to have).
Experience working with CAD teams and drafting resources (nice to have).
Familiarity with SolidWorks and SolidWorks Electrical (nice to have).
