Description

  • Install and service access control and IP camera systems according to engineered drawings.
  • Program, terminate, and commission a wide range of access control products and platforms.
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve issues with electronic devices, power supplies, and network components.
  • Complete all required job-ticket paperwork accurately and thoroughly.
  • Communicate project activity and status updates to the Project Manager or Field Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times.
  • Assist Level I technicians as needed.
  • Maintain the condition and cleanliness of the company-provided vehicle.
  • Attend required product and safety training.
  • Work closely with subcontractors, customers, and other UT employees while representing the company professionally.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of field installation experience in a security environment.
  • Mastery of all install and service technician responsibilities.
  • Certifications in Lenel/Software House access control.
  • Certifications in American Dynamics, Genetec, or Exacq preferred.
  • Experience installing door hardware such as strikes and magnetic locks.
  • Experience in audio visual technology.
  • Experience troubleshooting network switches.
  • Experience reading and comprehending engineered drawings.
  • Experience marking up or redlining drawings after installation.
  • Proficiency with computers, including MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic, teamwork, and a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Must be a self-starter and quick learner.
  • Safe driving record and ability to report incidents or near misses immediately.
