Description

  • Set the multi-year strategy, operating plans, standards, budgets, and roadmap for enterprise IT engineering capabilities.
  • Build and mature platform engineering services, including cloud landing zones, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, automation, policy-as-code, and self-service platforms.
  • Design and govern shared technology services across institutions, subsidiaries, legal entities, and future acquisitions.
  • Lead cloud, hybrid, multi-tenant, identity, networking, storage, productivity, SaaS, and data architecture.
  • Establish reliability engineering practices covering monitoring, observability, incident management, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Develop infrastructure for AI, analytics, data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses, streaming, and integration services.
  • Lead technology due diligence and integration or separation planning for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and restructurings.
  • Embed security, privacy, compliance, zero-trust, vulnerability management, identity controls, and audit readiness into engineering practices.
  • Manage budgets, cloud spending, vendors, licensing, FinOps governance, and engineering portfolios.
  • Recruit, coach, develop, and retain engineering leaders and team members while fostering inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience developing and executing IT strategies, roadmaps, operating plans, budgets, and performance measures.
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, developing, and retaining high-performing engineering or infrastructure teams.
  • Experience with cloud and hybrid environments, infrastructure-as-code, automation frameworks, CI/CD, and scalable platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of system administration, networking, monitoring, incident management, disaster recovery, business continuity, and service reliability.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, identity and access management, vulnerability management, governance, and risk mitigation.
  • Working knowledge of FERPA, GLBA, HIPAA where applicable, privacy regulations, accreditation requirements, and data protection standards.
  • Experience managing technology budgets, investments, software licensing, vendors, contracts, and cost optimization.
  • Ability to manage multiple technology initiatives and communicate complex technical topics to senior and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Full-time remote work readiness, including a quiet home office, camera capability, wired high-speed internet, occasional onsite travel, and flexibility for evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Preferred: Experience in regulated, higher education, healthcare, financial services, multi-entity, or federated environments.
  • Preferred: Experience with Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, Databricks, Terraform, modern observability platforms, M&A, ITIL, SRE, DevSecOps, FinOps, NIST, or CIS Controls.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree, relevant certifications, or experience with multi-tenant identity, cloud, data, security, and productivity architectures.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $125,900–$210,000 USD.
  • Annual incentive bonus eligibility and cell phone allowance.
