Description

  • Design, build, and modernize backend services and APIs that support ad delivery.
  • Develop and operate scalable, high-availability systems used across Unity’s ads ecosystem.
  • Work on distributed systems handling real-time ad requests, impression tracking, and user data analytics with strict uptime and security requirements.
  • Improve performance, observability, and cost-efficiency of backend systems while modernizing the legacy tech stack.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and set technical direction for the platform.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and data teams to define and deliver new features.
  • Maintain service availability and reliability for performance-critical production systems.
  • Ensure security, data privacy, and a positive user experience are embedded in platform work.

Requirements

  • Experience building backend services at scale.
  • Proficiency in Golang and relational databases (e.g., MySQL).
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and observability tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Ray).
  • Understanding of API design, distributed systems, and system reliability.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for a remote-first team environment.
  • Experience working on performance-critical systems and modernizing legacy stacks (preferred).
  • Experience in ad tech, programmatic advertising, or real-time bidding systems (nice to have).
  • Background with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform) and familiarity with networking, caching, or real-time data pipelines (nice to have).
  • Sufficient professional English for frequent global verbal and written communication.
  • Relocation support and work visa/immigration sponsorship are not available for this position (constraint).
