Description

  • Manage high- and mega-complexity projects with large, complex components of a broader program.
  • Coordinate multiple departments, vendors, and assets to deliver major milestones on time and within budget.
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders to support scoping, financial, and resource decisions.
  • Identify, document, and escalate cross-organizational and vendor dependencies, and help develop dependency management processes.
  • Establish project governance structures and discussion cadences with executive sponsors and key stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach junior project management staff and matrixed team members.
  • Support annual planning activities by providing relevant project data to senior leaders.
  • Prepare financial performance and forecasting reports for senior executives and government regulators.
  • Identify project risks and work across the organization to implement mitigation plans.
  • Evaluate proposed changes based on cost, schedule, risk, scope, and cross-functional dependencies, and package information for governance decisions.
  • Develop and maintain project management artifacts in accordance with client standards and applicable regulations.
  • Identify efficiencies and recommend process improvements to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Strong project management experience managing complex cross-functional projects in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Experience with cross-project and cross-program dependency identification and management.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Ability to network with internal and external stakeholders and use relationships to resolve complex project issues.
  • Effectiveness working diplomatically across teams with varying objectives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • PMP certification, with willingness to obtain it within 12 months of hire.
  • Must have work authorization in the United States.
  • Transportation industry experience preferred.
  • Direct or matrixed people management experience is a plus.
