Description

  • Own the technical vision and system architecture for the Identity Graph platform.
  • Evaluate and select the technology stack for storing complex identifiers and relationships.
  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance synchronous read models for real-time risk decisions.
  • Build data pipelines for multi-cadence hydration, real-time events, batch enrichments, and static reference data.
  • Define and enforce strict privacy boundaries and secure PII handling from day one.
  • Partner with product and engineering leadership to set direction, manage expectations, and turn concepts into plans.
  • Collaborate across Twilio and Stytch teams to align architecture and unblock cross-team initiatives.
  • Break down ambiguous problems, clarify scope, and help define requirements for an actionable MVP.
  • Establish production-quality standards for resilience, observability, and distributed graph systems.
  • Mentor and pair with engineers to raise the team’s technical bar.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience designing, building, and operating high-scale, mission-critical distributed systems, graph databases, and complex data models.
  • Deep hands-on experience in a production-grade codebase using a modern programming language.
  • Experience setting best-practice coding standards and writing high-quality code.
  • Proven experience owning system architecture and leading cross-functional engineering teams through implementation.
  • Strong ability to work through ambiguity, define scope, and turn concepts into an MVP.
  • Track record of mentorship, collaboration, and raising a team’s technical bar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience managing stakeholder expectations and driving technical alignment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related industry experience.
  • Ability to work non-standard on-call rotation weekend and holiday hours.
  • Familiarity with Go, Kubernetes, and DynamoDB, or experience with identity resolution or fraud detection systems (preferred).
  • Experience building 0-1 foundational platforms or complex data infrastructure with clean separation between core substrate and downstream consumers (preferred).
  • Experience designing high-performance real-time synchronous read models and complex data pipelines (preferred).
  • Builder-at-heart mindset with a strong preference for hands-on work (preferred).
