Description

  • Serve as the regional liaison for Bay Area (and North America) developer communities, building and sustaining relationships that support developers’ journeys with Twilio.
  • Inspire and equip developers to build with Twilio products and AI technology, ensuring an exceptional developer experience.
  • Design and build Twilio-powered demo solutions (e.g., SMS, Voice, Email) to address developer needs and showcase use cases.
  • Be an active and authentic participant in online and offline developer communities and act as the face of Twilio for local developers.
  • Plan, attend, and speak at in-person and virtual events, meetups, and user groups.
  • Write clear, empathetic technical content and code samples that make complex AI and Twilio concepts accessible and actionable.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, Sales, Support, and other cross-functional teams to align programs and engagement objectives.
  • Drive projects independently from inception to completion, outline key milestones, meet deadlines, and communicate plans, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience writing production code.
  • Proficient in one or more of: Python, PHP, Node, C# (.NET), or Java, with familiarity in web frameworks.
  • Technical foundational expertise in AI tools, technologies, and/or platforms.
  • Ability to navigate the emerging AI developer ecosystem and industry trends.
  • Experience in public speaking, technical writing, or organizing developer programs and events.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with teams such as sales, support, product, and marketing.
  • Strong teaching and storytelling skills with empathy for developers and an ability to simplify complex ideas.
  • Creative, collaborative problem-solving skills and a focus on data-driven decision-making for system and process improvements.
  • Familiarity with the Bay Area developer community and local AI developer ecosystem (desired).
  • Familiarity with project management tools/methodologies and demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships across organizational levels.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with estimated ranges: San Francisco Bay Area $151,120–$188,900; New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside Bay Area) $136,000–$170,000; Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont, or Washington D.C. $128,560–$160,700.
  • Potential eligibility to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan.
  • Health care insurance and a retirement savings program (401(k)).

  • Remote-first work environment with Bay Area-based remote role and expected travel (approximately 25–50%) to support in-person community engagement.
