Description

  • Set technical direction for platform engineering initiatives that improve delivery speed, operational simplicity, and scalability.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the current platform landscape across infrastructure, platform services, and application layers.
  • Identify delivery bottlenecks, platform gaps, and high-leverage improvements that reduce manual work and fragile integrations.
  • Partner with Infrastructure/DevOps, Operations, Security, and product engineering teams to align on shared standards and execution.
  • Lead technical design and architecture discussions for foundational platform work.
  • Design and implement platform features that improve repeatability, reliability, safety, and developer experience.
  • Build and promote self-service and automation capabilities such as declarative environments, orchestration inputs, and standardized deployment interfaces.
  • Improve engineering quality through code reviews, technical standards, documentation, and runbooks.
  • Own multiple platform initiatives end-to-end from concept through production outcomes.
  • Mentor senior and junior engineers and establish cross-team alignment mechanisms such as platform contracts and architectural decision records.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent depth of technical ownership.
  • Demonstrated experience leading platform, infrastructure, or developer-experience initiatives that improved reliability and/or delivery speed.
  • Experience with modern software delivery practices.
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver complex, loosely scoped technical initiatives.
  • Strong platform engineering mindset with experience building reusable primitives, paved-road solutions, and automation frameworks.
  • Experience designing and building reliable, scalable, and operationally sound software systems.
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across teams.
  • Strong automation-first mindset with focus on measurable outcomes such as DORA metrics, toil reduction, and faster environment provisioning.
  • Remote opportunity for applicants in Canada.
