Description

  • Lead end-to-end data platform design and development across ingestion, transformation, analytics, and activation.
  • Architect Medallion lakehouse patterns using OneLake, Delta Lake, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Databricks.
  • Own dimensional, normalized, and semantic data modeling for analytics-ready platforms.
  • Design batch, streaming, and event-driven ingestion using Fabric, Data Factory, Databricks, and Event Hubs.
  • Build APIs, data services, and MCP integrations for business systems, Data Agents, and agentic AI applications.
  • Implement governance, access control, metadata, and lineage using Microsoft Purview and/or Unity Catalog.
  • Optimize pipelines for performance, reliability, cost, and technical debt reduction.
  • Mentor engineers and review code, data models, and technical designs.
  • Advise client stakeholders on architecture trade-offs and contribute to proposals, accelerators, and engineering standards.
  • Support production operations, incident response, and evaluation of new Fabric and Databricks capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related technical field.
  • 5–8 years of data engineering experience, including ownership of production Azure data pipelines.
  • Expert proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, ADLS Gen2, and/or Azure Databricks.
  • Experience with Delta Lake, OneLake, Medallion architecture, data modeling, schema design, and enterprise data architecture.
  • Experience designing APIs and MCP integrations for front-line systems, Data Agents, and agentic AI interfaces.
  • Experience with orchestration and CI/CD tools such as Fabric pipelines, Azure Data Factory, Databricks Workflows, and Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of data governance and security tools, including Microsoft Purview and/or Unity Catalog.
  • Ability to mentor engineers, lead technical discussions, troubleshoot complex data issues, and communicate with technical and client audiences.
  • Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate, Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, and/or Databricks certifications preferred.
