Description

  • Define and execute the technical vision for the GCP Data Engineering practice, including data modeling, ingestion, lakehouse architecture, and FinOps standards.
  • Oversee the design and deployment of enterprise data platforms using BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Dataplex, and Cloud Storage.
  • Build production data pipelines, vector search infrastructure, and RAG frameworks for Generative AI and machine learning applications.
  • Implement GCP-native data governance, security, compliance, lineage, access controls, and metadata management.
  • Serve as the GCP data subject-matter expert in presales, client workshops, and enterprise delivery engagements.
  • Establish CI/CD, Terraform-based infrastructure, data testing, monitoring, and quality practices.
  • Manage, mentor, recruit, and develop an agile team of GCP data engineers.
  • Partner with executives, clients, data scientists, and AI teams to translate business needs into technical architectures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering and enterprise architecture.
  • 5+ years of direct people-management experience leading agile engineering teams.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience designing production data solutions on Google Cloud.
  • Experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer/Airflow, Dataproc, and Cloud Storage.
  • Advanced SQL and Python proficiency, with experience in Apache Beam, PySpark, NoSQL, LLM pipelines, vector search, and Generative AI workflows.
  • Expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT architecture, real-time streaming, and Medallion/Lakehouse architectures.
  • Experience with Terraform, CI/CD, IAM, KMS, Knowledge Catalog, and enterprise data security.
  • Strong presentation, consulting, stakeholder-management, and business-translation skills.
  • Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification is strongly preferred.
