Description

  • Develop and execute 1-2 year rolling solar inverter product line strategies aligned with the Mid-Range Plan.
  • Manage the assigned product portfolio and product development process from idea generation through product launch.
  • Assess market conditions, potential clients, competitors, and product differentiation to recommend competitive options.
  • Gather input on new and enhanced products from business unit team members and incorporate it into expansion planning.
  • Monitor sales and margins for assigned products, report significant changes, and feed results into strategic planning.
  • Identify opportunities to expand product offerings into larger integrated systems, including integration with partner products.
  • Serve as the conduit for new product ideas and the primary source of product input to the development team.
  • Develop product requirement documents for product and system development.
  • Create and maintain sales presentations, application engineering documentation, collateral, experience lists, and installed base listings.
  • Provide technical consulting, coaching, and training to sales and sales application teams.
  • Build relationships with suppliers, company contacts, and parent company contacts to support growth and issue resolution.
  • Improve the quality and delivery cycle of power flow models used in system studies in collaboration with engineering.
  • Report research, analysis, evaluations, recommendations, and product development plans to BU and company management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering, or a related physical/applied science field, or equivalent education and/or work experience.
  • 3 years of application engineering or design experience in inverters and photovoltaic systems.
  • 3 years of experience in product management or technical sales.
  • Demonstrated experience in utility-scale power generation.
  • Demonstrated experience developing product roadmaps and long-term product plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and develop business cases for new products, solutions, or market expansion.
  • Strong visual graphics capabilities for creating attractive and informative publications.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating cross-functionally and building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal/external contacts.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Availability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%, sometimes with limited notice.
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering discipline.
  • Preferred: MBA.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated experience in a product management role.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated experience developing financial business cases.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated experience with transformers used for inverters, drives, and power conversion.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated experience in commercial and industrial behind-the-meter energy management.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with power flow models including PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, and ASPEN.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated successful presentations at user conferences, trade shows, and similar events.

  • Hiring range of $145,900 to $218,900.
