Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain a high-quality web application focused on voice calling, chat, and real-time notifications.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable JavaScript-based web applications using modern programming techniques and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and developers to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Work with real-time communication protocols and frameworks such as WebRTC, SIP, and related voice and messaging technologies.
  • Optimize application performance, including audio quality, latency, and bandwidth usage.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve performance issues, crashes, and other bugs to maintain a stable user experience.
  • Own problems and solutions end-to-end from ideation through deployment.
  • Use experimentation and data to make product decisions that best serve customers.
  • Deploy features to a platform used by millions of users.
  • Contribute to building intuitive, user-centric experiences for voice and messaging on the web.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in web application development.
  • Strong experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Deep understanding of web frameworks, especially React and Marionette.
  • Bonus experience with real-time communication protocols and technologies such as WebRTC and SIP.
  • Familiarity with desktop notifications and managing network connections for real-time updates.
  • Experience with modern web development tools, Instruments, and the debugging process.
  • Understanding of UX principles and the ability to design elegant, simple solutions for complex problems.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks, including unit, UI, and integration testing.
  • Ability to work in a remote role based in Canada or the United States.
  • Experience with voice, video, messaging, or other real-time communication applications (preferred).
