Description

  • Lead the design and development of control systems for utility-scale renewable energy projects, including battery storage.
  • Model, simulate, and test renewable energy resources and control systems.
  • Perform hardware-in-the-loop testing and validation of protection and control systems using a real-time digital simulator.
  • Conduct interconnection impact studies, power quality analysis, load flow studies, dynamic studies, short-circuit analysis, blackstart studies, transient overvoltage studies, and SSCI analysis.
  • Program and commission SEL and Rockwell controllers.
  • Develop detailed design documentation, including system architecture diagrams, control narratives, and logic diagrams.
  • Provide technical support for power plant controllers.
  • Generate commissioning documents, operator manuals, and training materials.
  • Coordinate with field technicians to support on-site commissioning and installation.
  • Troubleshoot complex monitoring and control systems using diagnostic utilities.
  • Manage, develop, and enforce work processes, documentation, procedures, schedules, priorities, and technical specifications for assigned projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence for controls-related systems and equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of IEC 61131-3/PLC programming experience, including structured text and function blocks.
  • 3+ years of power plant control systems experience.
  • Experience with storage and hybrid control systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial protocols such as Modbus-TCP, DNP3, OPC-UA, IEC 61850, and ICCP.
  • Experience with SCADA systems is a plus.
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and business partners.
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%.
