Description

  • Engage directly with customers, including developers, owners, utilities, EPCs, and ISOs.
  • Contribute to the design and development of monitoring and control systems for utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Program, install, troubleshoot, test, and commission RTUs, PLCs, and HMIs for solar, BESS, EMS, and power plant control applications.
  • Develop and implement logic for complex custom applications and integrate project requirements into existing plant controller programs.
  • Design industrial networks for PV plant applications and support SCADA and plant control system installation and testing.
  • Create detailed design documentation, including system architecture diagrams, device point lists, IP lists, logic diagrams, and HMI mockups.
  • Prepare commissioning documents, as-built drawings, operator manuals, and training materials.
  • Coordinate with field technicians and support on-site commissioning and installation activities.
  • Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex monitoring and control systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence for controls systems to improve uptime, reliability, and failure prevention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or a related field, preferably with a controls major.
  • 2+ years of IEC 61131-3 / PLC programming experience, including structured text and function blocks.
  • 2+ years of SCADA development experience; Ignition experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of programming languages; Python is a plus.
  • Experience setting up virtual machines on physical servers.
  • Knowledge of IEC 61131-3, Ladder Logic, Function Blocks, and Structured Text.
  • Working knowledge of industrial protocols such as Modbus-TCP, DNP3, OPC-UA, IEC 61850, and ICCP.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and business partners.
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with or leadership in a Continuous Improvement / Lessons Learned program.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to travel 20-30%.
