Description

  • Translate abstract product concepts into tooling and technical solutions that improve the platform’s structure and extensibility.
  • Lead performance tuning and optimization efforts to support microservices and applications serving 10K+ users.
  • Architect, build, document, test, and debug a large consumer-facing application used daily.
  • Serve as technical owner and subject matter expert for multiple service areas.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to turn wireframes and requirements into technical requirements and detailed architecture.
  • Maintain alignment and consistency with other teams on key architectural decisions.
  • Develop and maintain APIs, microservices, event streams, and queues using Go and related backend technologies.
  • Write automated tests for all code and apply Behavior Driven Development practices.
  • Write infrastructure as code using Serverless Framework and contribute to code review practices.
  • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and architecture documentation while evaluating new technologies for adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent professional experience/software development certification.
  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years in a team lead role using Agile practices/processes.
  • 5+ years of professional experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP, with AWS preferred.
  • Alternatively, 5+ years of professional experience with Go/Golang or with React and TypeScript.
  • Strong ability to communicate development approaches and plans within and across teams.
  • Professional experience with modern version control systems such as Git and tools like Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab.
  • Experience working in a startup environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry and HL7 standards such as FHIR is preferred.
  • Experience with Serverless Framework, Ent, event streaming frameworks, gRPC/Twirp, or AWS certifications is preferred.
