Description

  • Translate abstract product concepts into concrete developer tooling and platform solutions to improve structure and extensibility for customer-facing applications.
  • Lead performance optimization efforts to ensure microservices and applications can support 10K+ users.
  • Architect, build, document, test, and debug a large consumer-facing application and own multiple service areas as the technical owner and subject matter expert.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to convert wireframes and requirements into technical requirements and detailed architecture.
  • Design, produce, modify, and maintain APIs, microservices, event streams/queues, and related backend systems using Go and other back-end languages as needed.
  • Write automated tests and apply Behavior Driven Development (BDD) practices; perform and improve team code review practices.
  • Write infrastructure as code (using Serverless Framework) and contribute to cloud infrastructure and deployment patterns.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and subject matter expertise to other engineers and maintain cross-team relationships to ensure architectural consistency.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation of architecture decisions and evaluate new technologies/frameworks for the stack; support and implement standards required to meet HIPAA data security requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar OR equivalent professional experience or software development certification (including bootcamp).
  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years in a team lead role using Agile practices and processes.
  • 5+ years professional experience developing Cloud Native applications/products on AWS, Azure, or GCP (AWS preferred) OR 5+ years professional experience with Go/Golang OR 5+ years professional experience with React + TypeScript.
  • Proven ability to communicate development approaches and plans within and across teams.
  • Professional experience with modern version control systems and tools (e.g., Git, Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab).
  • Experience or responsibility for designing and operating web, API, database, and cloud technologies in production.
  • Familiarity with automated testing practices and infrastructure-as-code workflows (Serverless Framework preferred).
  • Nice to have: experience in startup environments, knowledge of healthcare industry standards (HL7/FHIR), graph data modeling with Ent, event streaming frameworks, and gRPC/Twirp.
  • Nice to have: AWS certification(s).
