Description

  • Lead a team of engineers building, documenting, testing, and debugging a large consumer-facing application with significant daily usage.
  • Serve as the technical owner and subject matter expert for one or more product areas.
  • Collaborate with product owners and designers to translate wireframes and requirements into technical requirements and detailed architecture.
  • Help lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain relationships with other teams to support architectural consistency across the organization.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain APIs, microservices, event streams/queues, and related backend services using Go and other technologies.
  • Write automated tests for all code and apply Behavior Driven Development practices.
  • Write infrastructure as code using Serverless Framework.
  • Perform code reviews and improve team code review practices as needed.
  • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and architecture documentation for the team.
  • Evaluate new technologies and frameworks for potential addition to the stack.
  • Support and implement data security standards to meet HIPAA requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent professional experience/software development certification including bootcamp.
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 2+ years in a team lead role using Agile practices/processes.
  • 2+ years of professional experience developing cloud-native applications/products on AWS, Azure, or GCP (AWS preferred), or 2+ years of professional experience with Go/Golang, or 2+ years of professional experience with React + TypeScript.
  • Strong ability to communicate development approaches and plans within and across teams.
  • Professional experience with modern version control systems such as Git and tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab.
  • Experience building SaaS and/or cloud-native software for a regulated industry.
  • Deep expertise in one or more of the following: React, TypeScript, Go, Ent, gRPC, Twirp, or AWS technologies like EventBridge and Aurora.
  • Experience working in a startup environment (preferred).
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry and HL7 standards such as FHIR (preferred).
  • Experience writing infrastructure as code using Serverless Framework (preferred).
  • Experience with graph data modeling using Ent (preferred).
  • Experience with event streaming frameworks such as EventBridge (preferred).
  • Experience with gRPC/Twirp (preferred).
  • AWS certification(s) (preferred).

  • Base salary range of $144,500 to $195,500, depending on geography and experience.
