Description

  • Partner with enterprise Account Executives as a principal-level advisor throughout the sales cycle from discovery to close.
  • Lead solution discovery sessions with dealer group executives to understand current systems, operations, pain points, and priorities.
  • Design and deliver tailored solution presentations and product demonstrations tied to each prospect’s operational realities.
  • Navigate multi-stakeholder evaluations across executive, departmental, and IT audiences while building credibility with each group.
  • Travel 40%–60% to conduct onsite meetings, executive briefings, and deal-critical customer engagements.
  • Serve as Tekion’s subject matter expert on DMS platforms and end-to-end dealership operations.
  • Explain the operational and financial impact of DMS migration, including data conversion, integrations, retraining, and go-live risk.
  • Assess competitive DMS platforms and the objections and switching costs they create.
  • Produce deal artifacts such as solution overviews, scope summaries, integration maps, and RFP responses.
  • Collaborate with product, sales, and implementation teams to validate solutions, refine GTM approach, and feed customer insights back into roadmap discussions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in solutions architecture, domain consulting, or senior technical leadership roles.
  • Substantial enterprise experience with automotive dealer management systems or dealership operations technology.
  • Hands-on knowledge of fixed ops, variable ops, accounting and financial reporting, and CRM.
  • Ability to engage VP- and C-suite-level dealer executives with authority and credibility.
  • Deep understanding of DMS migration complexity, including data conversion, third-party integrations, workflow change management, and multi-rooftop go-live sequencing.
  • Experience with at least one major legacy DMS platform such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, DealerSocket, or equivalent.
  • Strong executive communication, listening, and presentation skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience contributing to complex, high-value B2B evaluations in a senior advisory or domain expert capacity.
  • Preferred: direct operational or consulting experience with a large publicly traded dealer group such as Asbury, AutoNation, Lithia, Penske, Group 1, or Sonic.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Tekion ARC or experience evaluating Tekion in a competitive DMS assessment.
  • Preferred: understanding of dealer group financial structures, multi-entity accounting, OEM reporting, and consolidated reporting.
  • Preferred: deep fixed operations expertise, including shop management, labor guides, parts procurement, warranty claims, and service lane technology.
  • Preferred: exposure to digital retail, online F&I, and consumer-facing platforms integrated with enterprise DMS workflows.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Base salary range of $210,750 to $351,000 USD.
