Description

  • Lead and grow the analytics engineering team, including hiring, coaching, mentoring, and retention.
  • Own the semantic layer and data models that serve as the source of truth for business metrics and KPIs.
  • Design and maintain the dbt and Snowflake transformation layer, including standards, testing, documentation, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Establish data engineering best practices, modeling standards, and data quality controls across the organization.
  • Build automated testing, alerting, and observability practices to improve data trust and reliability.
  • Partner with BI Engineering to define clean handoff points between ingested data and modeled data.
  • Work closely with Finance leadership and Finance-aligned Data Analysts to translate business needs into the modeling roadmap.
  • Support Tableau dashboards and finance-facing self-service analytics with clean, performant data assets.
  • Define and communicate the Business Analytics Engineering roadmap and priorities to senior leadership.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point and hands-on contributor when needed.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data, including 3+ years in analytics engineering or a closely adjacent function.
  • 5+ years of people management experience building and developing teams.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with dbt, including production-grade modeling patterns, testing, macros, and CI/CD.
  • Strong Snowflake proficiency, including query optimization, warehousing strategy, and cost management.
  • Experience partnering with Finance, FP&A, or business operations teams.
  • Fluency with Tableau or comparable BI tools.
  • Track record of building and maintaining semantic or metrics layers and defining KPI standards.
  • Strong communication skills across technical reviews and executive presentations.
  • Familiarity with SaaS business models and related metrics is preferred.
  • Experience with data observability tools such as Monte Carlo or Elementary is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data mesh, data products, or federated ownership models is preferred.
  • Exposure to ML feature engineering or working alongside Data Science teams is preferred.
  • Background in a high-growth or scaling analytics environment is preferred.
