Description

  • Record financial transactions in accounting systems for multiple client companies.
  • Post customer payments and maintain an up-to-date accounts receivable aging report.
  • Enter vendor invoices, code expenses to the correct ledger accounts, obtain payment authorization, and schedule payments in the automated AP system.
  • Reconcile bank records, cash accounts, and general ledger accounts.
  • Process online payroll and record payroll transactions in the proper ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and reconcile fixed assets and perform preliminary review of capitalization adjustments.
  • Review trial balances before and after close, post entries, and flag anomalies for controller analysis.
  • Support other accounting tasks as needed by individual clients or the client controller.
  • Work within a shared-services environment supporting multiple clients and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Must be located in the ET or CT time zones.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with hands-on month-end close experience, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Experience working in a team-based or shared-services accounting environment and collaborating with or reporting to an Accounting Manager or Controller.
  • Strong working knowledge of accrual-basis accounting, including payroll-related entries and adjustments.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or other cloud-based accounting systems such as NetSuite or Intacct.
  • Willingness to support hands-on AP/AR and transactional accounting work in a growing function.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong communication and accountability.
  • Proven critical thinking and process-improvement mindset, especially in close cycles or financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams, with the ability to manage and analyze data.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Adaptable, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious, with a desire to learn and grow across a variety of industries.

Benefits

  • Remote full-time position.
  • Salary range of $70,000 to $75,000 per year.
