Description

  • Monitor transaction data to identify emerging fraud patterns and anomalies in assigned markets.
  • Lead end-to-end fraud incident response, including identification, quantification, and mitigation recommendations.
  • Design and implement fraud rules and logic that reduce fraud while minimizing false positives.
  • Use SQL and Python to analyze large datasets and turn findings into actionable business intelligence.
  • Develop and maintain automated dashboards for real-time fraud exposure and health metrics.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for fraud data requests from KYC and Identity Product teams.
  • Execute rapid interventions to mitigate active fraud incidents and protect revenue and user trust.
  • Audit and refine fraud controls regularly to adapt to evolving threats and new products or markets.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, Analysts, Customer Care, and Compliance on fraud mitigation.
  • Present weekly and monthly fraud performance and incident updates to market and product leadership.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Fraud or Risk Analyst or Investigator in financial services, fintech, or digital lending.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for querying large datasets, data transformation, and automation.
  • Experience identifying issues, analyzing root causes, and implementing solutions to reduce fraud losses and improve efficiency.
  • Proven ability to recognize fraud trends and escalate material issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to analyze data with existing tools to confirm fraud, identify trends, and measure control effectiveness.
  • Deep understanding of fintech and small-loan fraud typologies, including identity theft, scam, account takeover, synthetic identity fraud, and first-party fraud.
  • Familiarity with the fraud lifecycle, including prevention, detection, investigation, and recovery.
  • Must be able to overlap with North American East Coast hours for at least 2 hours daily.
  • May require on-call availability during rare incident periods.
