Description

  • Lead government accounting operations and ensure regulatory compliance across government-funded programs and contracts.
  • Provide high-quality accounting and operational service to government contractor clients.
  • Oversee accounting for government contracts, grants, and funding streams, including client transitions from QuickBooks to Deltek.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, GAAP, and Uniform Guidance requirements.
  • Manage indirect rate structures, cost allocations, revenue recognition, billing, contract reporting, and closeout processes.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, review key accounting activities, and strengthen internal control frameworks.
  • Lead preparation for DCAA and Single Audit engagements and develop policies and procedures that support compliance excellence.
  • Oversee client onboarding for assigned engagements and implement the company’s technology toolbox to improve efficiency and client value.
  • Serve as a resource for assigned team members, monitor performance, and provide coaching and feedback as needed.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and leadership to hire, train, schedule, and retain remote accountants while managing workflow and margins.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 10 years of related accounting experience, including 4 years of hands-on management experience hiring, training, and developing a service-oriented team.
  • 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including government contract accounting and job costing.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR, CAS, GAAP, and Uniform Guidance.
  • Experience supporting government audits; DCAA experience highly valued.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems; Costpoint experience is a plus.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise and Online, Bill.com, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and HubDoc, or confidence in learning new technology.
  • Ability to work full-time, 32–40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during traditional daytime business hours.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, maintain confidentiality, and work effectively with remote teams.
